this isn’t just an impeachable offense
this is a TREASONOUS offense. which legally, could result in the penalty of death.The White House’s statement on this is actually very revealing.
They’re denying the validity of the article because Trump “didn’t discuss sources or methods.”
The article SPECIFICALLY mentions that he didn’t go into those kinds of details but that the details he did reveal were still more than he should have because, by process of elimination, it could reveal the source.
The White House is playing word games because their chosen one is a child who can’t stay on script.
But I find this statement from the White House to be damning.
Guys. Make sure you’re registered to vote. Then VOTE in the midterm elections. Impeachment proceedings have to start in the House, and the Republicans aren’t going to let that happen while they have the majority. We need to flip Congress.
(Though, winning the special elections coming up would be a big help too - might even get enough republicans panicking to distance themselves from Trump. So, Georgia, Montanta - we’re counting on you guys!)
(Also, guys, technically, it’s not treasonous or illegal - the president can declassify anything they want. It was, however, outrageous, dangerous, and irresponsible.)
